Are you a Manager working in Social Care?

Do you want to know more about the support available to you and your teams?

 

If the answer is yes, the Organisational and Workforce Development Service at Northamptonshire County Council is inviting you to attend a free Manager's Social Care Forum - ‘Helping you to deliver quality social care'. The event is for managers and providers of children's social care services across Northamptonshire - whether in the statutory, private, voluntary or independent sector.

 

Morning and afternoon sessions on both days will provide the opportunity to:

Participate in taster workshops on topics including

  • Future Commissioning Requirements
  • Safeguarding
  • Leadership, Management and Change
  • Manual Handling
  • Working in social care environments with customers who present challenging behaviour
  • Qualifications and Apprenticeships for Health and Social Care
  • Social Work

Listen to key guest speakers

  • Charlie MacNally, Director of Adults and Children's Services
  • Maureen Phillips, Assistant Director of Safeguarding and Children's Services, Northamptonshire County Council 

Market Place

You will have the opportunity to:

  • trial online learning and resources on the Online Learning Centre
  • find out about training for staff through the Open Programme
  • discover research materials from Research In Practice

Participate in a prize draw 

Prizes include 2 fully funded qualifications and 10 free training places!

 

Dates and Times

There are 2 sessions for those working in Children's Services - Thursday 2nd February 9 - 12pm or Friday 3rd February 1 - 4pm

Other times are available for those working in adult services. Both sessions will take place at Riverside House in Northampton.

DCLG - New 'Troubled Families' Team

David Cameron has announced the appointment of Louise Casey as head of a new Troubled Families Team to try and target the country's most troubled families, getting them back on track.

 

Following the riots the government aims to improve the lives of the country's most troubled families. The new Troubled Families team will work across government to push forward this commitment to turn around the lives of 120,000 troubled families within the course of this Parliament.
