Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs) are responsible for developing and scrutinising safeguarding practice in the local area.
Their role includes:
- Ensuring there are safeguarding policies and procedures
- Ensuring there is guidance on thresholds for intervention when a child or young person has additional needs or may be at risk of harm
- Raising awareness of the importance of safeguarding and providing guidance on training
- Conducting serious case reviews and making recommendations on lessons to be learnt
