Workforce Matters

Workforce Development is more than just training....

 

.... it includes workforce planning, leadership, recruitment and retention, integrated working, induction, competencies, supervision and appraisal, equality and diversity, health, safety and well-being....

 

The driving force behind the Children's Workforce Development Agenda is that, in order to achieve the best outcomes for children, young people and their families, we need the best staff and volunteers working with them.

The previous Government's vision was that every member of the children's workforce should be:

  • ambitious for every child and young person
  • excellent in their practice
  • committed to partnership and integrated working
  • respected and valued as professionals 

Whilst the government has changed, the local authorities in Leicester City, Rutland and Northamptonshire remain committed to ensuring their local workforce receives the opportunities and support to be the best it can be.
