Child Protection

Child Protection is about safeguarding children and young people from significant harm.

Abuse and neglect are forms of maltreatment  of a child by either inflicting harm or failing to prevent it. Children and young people may be abused by adults or other children, by a family member or friend, someone in an institution or a stranger.

Worried about a child or young person?

If you're worried about any child and think they may be a victim of neglect, abuse or cruelty, contact your local Social Care office or the Police.
