The next important stage of the Vetting and Barring Scheme roll out is fast approaching. From July 26th 2010 new applicants or those changing role to work with children or vulnerable adults can start to register with the ISA.
From July 2010 the following arrnagements come into effect:
- Applicants must apply for disclosure and/or ISA registration on the new CRB application form. To find out more about the difference between ISA registration and CRB checks click here.
- Old disclosure application forms are no longer accepted by the CRB after 26th July.
- Applicant guide booklets will no longer be provided. Instead applicants are advised to view the e-guide available on the CRB website http://www.crb.homeoffice.gov.uk/eguide.
- From 28 June you will be able to apply for ISA registration and/or CRB checks on the new application form. Forms will be manually checked for errors and those completed correctly will be held unprocessed until 26 July 2010. - After 26th July 2010 the CRB will start to process the new application forms accepted since 28th June 2010 in date received order.
- Applicants who entitled to check if a person is ISA registered or barred in respect of either or both workforces can do so as part of an enhanced disclosure.
- Applicants can check online and free of charge whether an individual is ISA registered for either or both workforces. For more information about online checking click here.
- Applicants can register an interest or subscribe online to receive updates on an individual's ISA registration status. This will be free of charge and applicants can subscribe to a number of individuals at the same time.
