‘Getting the Best for Our Children' course has proven to be very popular and useful to parents, carers, practitioners and service providers. The course underpins good practice to Real Representation and Real Participation by sharing practical methods and sharing real case studies.
 
Furthermore the course supports  Aiming High for Disabled Children Programme  by supporting  the involvement of parent carers in the planning and strategic development of services for disabled children.
 
Parents and Carers have benefited by having an increased access to information, support and increased awareness about their children's rights. The course provides participants with skills and knowledge, increasing their involvement in service delivery and planning to meet the needs of their children and family.
Include Me TOO will support the evolving model of parent partnership and forums by providing four training sessions for parents, presenting evaluation and a report of the discussions and feedback resulting from the course sessions.  The training supports the Championing the Rights of Disabled Children Handbook and the Respect code of practice.

The course is ideal in supporting and enhancing parents and carers roles as Champions for their children and will provide an insight to the role of being a representative. The aim of the training will also be to identify parents/carers who could become peer mentors and participate on interview and commissioning panels. Furthermore we can assist through the course in expanding the diversity of parents and carers representatives in your area.

All participants are provided with Certificates for Attendance, plus a pack containing handouts, top tips and guidance.
 
We request for the venue and refreshments etc to be arranged by the purchasing organisation. The additional costs would be travel and accommodation costs would only apply depending on the distance of the training location for facilitators.
