You’re Welcome’ – promoting young people friendly health services

The ‘You’re Welcome’ quality criteria sets out principles to help services with a significant health component, including non-NHS services, be young people friendly.

The quality criteria cover ten areas:-

  • accessibility
  • publicity
  • confidentiality and consent
  • the environment
  • staff training, skills, attitudes and values
  • joined-up working
  • monitoring and evaluation, and involvement of young people
  • health issues for young people / adolescents
  • sexual and reproductive health services
  • child and adolescent mental health services (CAHMS)

If your organisation provides services for young people with a significant health component, you can find out more about the ‘You’re Welcome’ initiative and how it may relate to you, by contacting:
Samantha Little, NHS Leicester City, Email:  Sam.Little@LeicesterCity.nhs.uk
Vanessa Griffiths, NHS Leicestershire County and Rutland, Email: Vanessa.Griffiths@leics-his.nhs.uk

Information can also be found on the Department of Health (DoH) website; go to www.dh.gov.uk and type
