Induction Standards/Common Core

The Common Core of Skills and Knowledge - usually called the Common Core, sets out the skills and knowledge requirements for people who work with children, young people and families.
There is a particular focus on having a ‘shared language' so that people can work together more effectively.

There are six key areas:

The common core is being used in the development of job descriptions, induction (see common induction standards) training and development provisions. The common core will also be linked into the Integrated Qualifications Framework

The common core is currently being ‘refreshed' and the CWDC is asking for your views. Have your say here.
