The Children's Workforce Development Project is based at Voluntary Action LeicesterShire. The project works to support the engagement of the private, voluntary and independent sector children and young people's workforce in to children's workforce development strategies and agendas.
What we do
Key pieces of work include:
- Communication with the sector: keeping the sector informed of training opportunities, key policies and agendas affecting the workforce and opportunities to influence via this website, weekly e-briefings (sign up here) and quarterly newsletters (take a look at the Rutland newsletter here or the Leicester newsletter here).
- Understanding the sector: undertaking an annual workforce data profile and training needs analysis to identify the size, scope, nature and developmental needs of the sector - find out more here
- Up-skilling the workforce: ensuring the sector has access to information about training e.g. safeguarding, development and delivery of training sessions to the sector - find out more here
- Representing the sector: attendance at key strategic meetings to ensure that the voice and needs of the PVI are put forward, facilitation and membership of the LSCB VCS Standing Reference Group.
The project currently works across Leicester City, Rutland and Northamptonshire.
