This site has been developed for the people who work or volunteer within the private, voluntary and independent sectors in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. It is part of the work of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) Workforce Strategy Partner’s Programme (a.k.a Children's Workforce Development Project) for the Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) Sectors.
The website provides everything you need in one place:
The Children's Workforce Development Project’s remit is to support the involvement and engagement of the Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) sectors' Children's and Young people's Workforce in the local and regional integrated workforce strategies and to ensure these strategies address and meet the needs of the providers of children's services within these sectors.
Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland joined forces and funding and the project is delivered across the three areas by Voluntary Action LeicesterShire. The aim is that the project will make a difference across the three areas in terms of workforce development and integrated workforce practices and ultimately impact on improved outcomes for children, young people and their families.
The project began in March 2008 with an initial remit to identify the size, scope, nature and needs of the sector. This has enabled the development of a database which allows us to keep the sector informed with relevant information on local strategies and national agendas that may affect them. Through the information we have gathered we have also been able to commission free training in response to the needs of the PVI workforce.
